Welcome to Rigani
My culinary career began early on, inspired by my Greek heritage and my parent's love and respect for quality and tradition. My first restaurant as Executive Chef was Spaghetti Graffiti in Chapel Street where I was able to explore not only my love of food but my specialisation in pastry.
For the last 30 years, I've run a variety of restaurants including Cosmopolitan in Swanston Street, King Jon’s in King Street, Ela Greek Tavern in High Street, Northcote and Kyma in St Kilda that allowed me to perfect seafood cooking and my own take on traditional fish and chips as well as the famous Gyros.
My love for food goes back to my mum who used herbs and spices to create delicious recipes and I credit her with making me what I am today.
My favourite spice is oregano or ‘Rigani’ and my creation is a tribute to our heritage.
